Shattered Dreams
April 12-13, 2007
This program originated with the Chico, California Police Department. It was originally named “EVERY 15 MINUTES”. Data showed every 15 minutes, someone in the United States died in an alcohol related traffic collision shattering the lives and dreams of innocent families.
The focus on high school juniors and seniors is to challenge them to think about drinking, driving, and the responsibilities of making correct decisions when lives are involved.
This program was later expanded and renamed “Shattered Dreams” by the Bexar County DWI Task Force Advisory Board on Underage Drinking.
Carrollton Police Department was selected as the agency to present it to other North Texas law enforcement agencies and school districts due to our commitment of presenting yearly anti-DWI programs at our high schools.
The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission desires to take this program to every high school in Texas.
